Types of bras – here are the different types of bras that are commonly found in stores, and at online fashion store Very.co.uk they currently do special offers on lingerie such as the following bras:
Built in bra: This is usually a top that features a built in bra. This means that the top provides additional support and coverage, negating the need to wear a bra as well. Often found in sports clothing.
Convertible bra: A convertible bra generally means that you can adjust the straps, or even remove them, to wear under different types of clothing. Common options include cross-back, halter neck, one shouldered and strapless.
Demi bra: a half cup style bra, these are often boned to give a boost to cleavage, but often offer less support. Great for wearing underneath low-cut clothing.
Minimizer bra: Designed for ladies with larger busts, these bras are designed to compress the bust, keeping cleavage to a minimum. Generally designed for ladies with a cup size of D or above.
Padded bra: A padded bra features extra padding in the cups, providing a fuller bust and a smooth silhouette.
Push up bra: The purpose of the push up bra is to give some lift to the bust. Push up bras frequently feature extra padding in the form of gel, water and even air, to give the illusion of a bigger cup size, which is generally centered underneath the breast to push it up, rather than to provide support.
Strapless bra: A strapless bra is exactly that – it has no straps, allowing it to be worn underneath clothing such as evening dresses.
T-shirt bra: A t-shirt bra tends to have hidden seams, meaning that it won’t show up underneath a tight t-shirt and are often padded to help keep the nipple hidden.
